CWShredder 1.59.1
Description: A small utility for removing CoolWebSearch (aka CoolWwwSearch, YouFindAll, White-Pages.ws and a dozen other names). Spybot S&D tends to forget essential parts of the hijack, so until it updates, you can just this to completely remove the hijack. Updated to remove the new variants once they come out.

Note: CoolWWWSearch.SmartKiller (v1 and v2) is a newer, real ugly variant of CoolWWWSearch. When running, it will close every browser window you use to visit a large list of anti-spyware-sites, and even will close Spybot-S&D and some other anti-spyware applications as well

HijackThis 1.98 (Hotfix)
Description: HijackThis, a general homepage hijackers detector and remover. Initially based on the article Hijacked!, but expanded with almost a dozen other checks against hijacker tricks. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs/URLs, just the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites.
HijackThis 1.98:
* Added freaking 50 new Registry value to scan for IE!
* Added status text during scan.
* Added a ton of new files to the LSP whitelist (missing imon.dll
shouldn't show anymore as well).
* Support for non-US character sets (Japanese, Traditional/Simplified
Chinese and Korean)!
* Fixed a bug where R3 entries ending in '}_' weren't fixed.
* Backups are now placed in a seperate folder labelled 'backups'.
* Improved detection of O4 Registry autoruns, RunServicesOnce key is now
also checked.
* Fixed a possible catastrophic bug in fixing of F2 Userinit entries
(incorrect backup restore).
* Added small process manager and hosts file editor (Misc Tools).
* Disabled routine to fix O10 items, since this can break the Winsock LSP
stack.

SpyBot-Search & Destroy 1.3 Final
Description: Please uninstall previous versions before installing this one.
SpyBot-S&D searches your hard drive for so-called spy- or adbots; little modules that are responsible for the ads many programs display. But many of these modules also transmit information about your surfing behaviour and more to the net.
If SpyBot-S&D finds such modules, it can remove them - or replace them with empty dummies in case their host software won't run with its bot removed. In most cases, the host still runs fine after removing the bot.
For a list of 'supported' bots see the feature lists below. The Spybot-S&D interface is so easy, that updates just require replacing a file of about 80k in size. Those updates are distributed by my software mailinglist, at the authors page and are also available from inside the programs update section.
Another feature of Spybot S&D is the removal of usage tracks, which makes it more complicated for unknown spybots to transmit useful data. The list of last visited websites, opened files, started programs, cookies, all that and more can be cleaned. Supported are the three major browsers Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator and Opera.
Last but not least Spybot-S&D contains some routines to find and correct invalid entries into the registry.
Editor's Note: The Resident shield in version 1.3 has an issue allowing certain cookies (Specifically Double Click)when set to notify. If page loading becomes a problem, right click the icon in the Systray, select “Resident IE” and either uncheck “Use Resident in IE sessions” or check "Block all bad pages silently".
